You are correct, the AI's biggest problem is said to be resources constraint like computing power to be able to reduce random abstraction to a minimum. The fact that it won't be able to make 2k images so soon (or charge a lot for it) until corporations can profit reasonably without burning up that many trees in electricity fees is what gives the current art hub a spiked border wall to prevent "people" like picrel from entering virtual galleries. Though no one knows how many lines of code it will take to optimize the bot, so you should make a good use of your time while you are objectively on top.
