Cool concept, I think it could use some breathing room.
Here's what I came up with. Story-wise, it would be cool to have the egg thing as the main focal point, then the guy in the foreground . This composition might also help with directing our eye a bit. I also changed the values up a bit. It's super rough I know, but I hope it gets the idea across. The light tendrils I just added for fun, like the egg is infecting the area or something. I stuck with your color scheme for the most part.
