naaaah, look closely, moved it over, image related, see how her right (our left) arm is drawn (should drawn that line in a thicker line so that it's more uniform like the rest of the line art but i digress)

>>1994718 lil tirade about how it "flattened" the arm was almost right (it made it look like the arm was angled away from the viewer instead of towards them) so despite their spiteful theatrics, they did actually help me realize that i had actually made a mistake so... thanks?

artist is barth from (blogspot: yearinmerde)
(interestingly enough, they're the one i stole/learned the elbow joint thing bein a straight line from the top of the forearm)

also, i'd like to point out that i'm jus suggesting these changes, i'm never tellin anyone they HAVE to correct the things i point out. as long as they're aware of what they're doing i don't care, do ya thing, dawg, i only presents these things as one of the infinite amount of options you may choose to take so please try an chill with the vitriol

>it's like you're saying the more anatomical features you see the better it is.

>>1749492 said the anatomy was misshapen or nonexistent. i pointed out otherwise

>the left one is completely misshapen. as a style, it can't be used for anything,

but the artist illustrates comics in that style

>it's not very expressive

well that's just not true. the right figure is a lot more expressive than the left ones. not to mention there's a sense of narrative to the piece on the right which makes me enjoy the piece even more
, and there is probably no consistency either from one drawing to another. the right one on the other hand can be used for comics and animation.

again the artist who drew the right image illustrates a comic book in that style plus he's an animator

>sure, the left one is more "original", but that doesn't actually mean it's stylistically well thought through or good. just looks like a mess

saying things like ""original"" and "stylistically well thought through" or "mess" makes me believe that you don't really know what you're talking about

let's break it down.

original:

-nothing is original
-every "style" is influenced by something
-original doesn't describe the piece very well. it's just one of those words people with no artistic knowledge use to try to sound like they have an opinion
-a better word to have used would have been generic, to describe the piece on the left. which it is.

stylistically well thought through:

see now no one who works in the illustration or animation industry would ever say this. the word that you're looking for is design

mess:

does not actually describe what about the piece you dislike. meaningless critique
