I would say start with gesture, if you wish to draw manga-like things then that should be imperative. Manga and comics are all about about conveying a story. A story usually includes not only a wide range of physical movement like running, jumping, fighting or whatever but also a wide range of emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, guilty, helplessness and so on. You need to be able to know, at least on a basic level, how one's body can convey those emotions.

If you are unsure what I mean look at theater stage performance and you will see how much the actors move around to convey their emotions towards the crowd. This is needed because unlike TV in a theater one does not have a camera close up on their face do they must use their whole body to display the role they are playing. Furthermore those are all staged an choreographed by a director so the actors are also arranged in a way to help further the effect even more.
