This hits extremely close to home. Not exactly with drawing, but with video games. I used to be very good at a particularly video game. Extremely good in fact.
It was League of Legends. 4-5 years ago I hovered between top 2-300 constantly in EUW but due to my dad's very negative view towards me playing video games all the day, I felt very demotivated and ashamed. So yeah, I stopped pursuing it even though my dream was to go pro one day. Having unsupportive parents and/or being in a toxic enviornment is soul crushing if you're passionate about something.
