There's nothing wrong with the heads, Takehito Harada intentionally makes his girls look like toothpicks with big heads.
>is anime not real?
Harada has a very hard, blocky style. Going back to his intention, his emphasis is on neotenous features in girl characters (flat chests and small waists for young, attractive girls, whereas he'll define the wide hips and large busts for very feminine characters.) Unlike other artists like Frazetta and J. Scott Campbell that put emphasis on realistic figure drawing and anatomical detail, Harada is letting the language of the anatomy speak for the design. This lets one's style or "authorial intent" speak through the character more naturally and fluidly. This isn't to say one is better than the other (realism or anime) but a mindset is developed during the process.
