I Don’t recommend trying that. It’s probably of some value to learn as a man your life does indeed revolve around one woman, just don’t be surprised that hers doesn’t revolve around you.

A memory of someone who was ultimately unattainable will at best be melancholy and realistic, and at worst overly sentimental or vulgar. Both of the latter are much more common. Especially as their memory fades away the fight to remember them becomes near impossible when your memories of them are more of your fantasies of what didn’t come to pass than what actually happened. Separating fact from fiction becomes more and more difficult, and when all you have as evidence of your relationship is old artwork they modeled for it because even more blurry and unclear.

And the pain of knowing they felt literally no level of connection to you as the most random hookup they’ve had, no matter how hard you work or inspired your art of them becomes. It’s so painfully pointless, but maybe that’s how you become a great artist. Who cares?
