>I got my fundies
Bad news, friend. You don't have your fundies. I can tell because the mouth looks like flat lines drawn on a surface anc the eyes aern't even in the same plane. Does learning fundies suck? Yes. It takes years. But there's no other way.

Jimi poster is right, try working with value /shadow shapes, no lines.

>So like sticking different shapes in 3D modelling

No, that's construction a'la scott robertson. That's a little above ur head (though it's not a bad idea to to a perspective setup and try 3d modeling on paper at some point, even if you fail)

Jimi poster means looking for the 2d shapes that make up shadow and draw by 'thinking' in terms of those. See pic related, he's not using shading, and although he uses lines, it's just to find the shadow shapes. Obviously he's going for realism, but finding shadow shapes is a common stage for stylization too. It's essential for showing form.

looking for/thinking in shapes is easier if you use a brush or piece of charcoal on it's side, which forces you to not use lines.
