Pretty awesome man, saw this on fb already. Anyways, I think you are going overboard on some of the halftones and the forms are getting muddied. Check out some like marble sculptures maybe (since they have a single local value like yours) and see how clean the forms are.

My paintover is a bit shit, but maybe shows some stuff? I dunno. I think you also are over exaggerating some of the outer contours.
