I have a relative who works at the institute of paleontology of the local university in my town. They're going to hold a scientific convention in a couple of weeks, for this they always produce pamphlets, mugs, and such for the attendees. Normally the image that adorns these things is a cropped out photograph of a fossil, but this year they're going with an AI generated stylized 'drawing' of an ammonoid. I think a large part of internet artists are going to be fine since people will always appreciate handmade products, but illustrators who would normally do work on small projects are kind of fucked.
