To an extent, but art has a low barrier of entry and lots of applications and markets, that is why so many grifters tend to infest the arts.

That's a consequence of modern art aka social media art.
The constant flow of free high quality imagery has given the consumer the delusion of being entitled to good high quality (that must look realistic), fast and free art that is pretty to look at and preferably makes him feel shallow emotions such as joy or lust.
Most other types of art goes over people's heads because if it doesn't have "the bait", their eyes don't ever register it.
And expecting an average consumer to actually and genuinely look at the picture? If you really expect that, you're out of your mind. That ain't gonna happen.
Social media was simply a mistake, plain and simple.
And no one is going to do anything against it, because everything
