>Does anyone have suggestions for pen drawings?
I used a thicker pen when I started using pen (pilot fineliner) - it was more forgiving. The 005 and 01 microns leave less to the imagination and you may appear to have more chicken scratching when you try to add volume and vary your line weights.

But at the end of the day the 01 micron is my favorite. I found that the 005 tip wears away too fast when you draw on copy paper (it is like drawing on sand paper). If you draw on bristol board or something smoother they last longer. The 01 can take a bigger beating, but I usually wear the tip out before it runs out of ink (I draw mostly on copy paper)
