First impressions so far are very positive. I find the pen very satisfying to use overall. It gives you just the right amount of pressure when you need it, and quick line have just the right amount of softness to them, where most would stutter. I don’t quite get why people find it so hard to use, I actually personally find the Sakura Microns for example to be far more unforgiving and... annoying to use. They can give out a little too much ink when you don’t want them to. Other nibs I’ve used in the past are also a bit more cumbersome. Granted, the paper makes a big difference. Back in Spain I tended to ink on Watercolor paper which has a lot of texture and is very cottony. Manga paper by comparison is thinner, much thinner, and totally smooth. Which helps give those lines that nice smoothness to them when you ink. I’d say the smoothness of manga paper is like that of a business card. I say this cause I remember someone complained about the G-pen catching some of the paper as they went across it.

All in all though, I only did a quick sketch to get a first impression of the pen. Like I said, I really like it, satisfying is how I’d personally describe it. Makes me actually wanna do manga in traditional as it reminds me of the feeling drawing used to give me before I went digital.

I plan on working some inking exercises with the nib over the next few weeks here and there, to build familiarity, but as far as first impressions go, I found it very easy to use overall. Especially compared to other analogue inking tools.
