these two are completely unrelated. the pursuit of knowledge does not mean you are going to lose your uniqueness. the appearance of your work will change, that is unavoidable. Simply experiencing life in a non artistic will drastically alter how you think and view your work. There is scientific evidence that even our personalities are fundamentally changing as we age.

Again its useful to understand every aspect of your craft to be able to manipulate and deconstruct things in whichever way you wish. think about language if i decide to dfksjlf ficjsoid sdoifjm sdidhfsdio askkndknlsadkn, then I've very intentional chosen to deconstruct, but I also posses the ability to communicate in a wide variety of ways. Again, this lets me pick and chose how I am doing something instead of being at the mercy of only knowing how to asdkflj ckmeiaof dsjkalfjdkal fasdklfl.
