Recently decided to start using an even lighter brush so I could have cleaner lines while sketching fast and loosely. Are these gestures legible enough? I put them out real fast and hoping they're recognizable enough. The ones in the center is when I dedicate more time to them.

Are those song lyrics? I fight myself to do the same or I just listen to ambient music so I don't freudian slip them on to my pages. Also, those wings are busy, have you studied how to guide the eye without putting down too much detail? Implied lines would be great for wings since most people already know the material they should be made of.

What exactly is going on with the body's contours here? Why are they being pinched outwards?

It's not too low, just placed weirdly because of the way the body's contorting. Female belly buttons are generally below the ribcage most of the time due to the structure of their torsos.
