I figured out the "dont use darkened version of the skin color" thing earlier today lol, but yeah in retrospect it's way too muddy. Plus I did get ahead of my self with the blending/rendering. I originally wanted to make sure the hands and face didnt blend in too much early on but I should've saved that till later. I probably didn't in the first place cus the colors blending me bothered me somewhat but I did get carried away nonetheless.

Also just to be sure, you're referring to pic related (for the most part) in your greentext right? As for the multiply layer part, I'm using Krita which I'm somewhat new to, so I don't know entirely how different it is compared to Photoshop, if at all.

Thanks, anon. If by lighting you mean the painting/rendering, I pretty much just
>Lay out cel shading
>Lay out transition colors between shading and base color, pic related is basically shows what it is
>Grab medium-hard brush to colorpick/blend until the edges look right
>Use big watercolor brush at low opacity to lighten unshaded areas for highlights
Sorry I can't explain it well, I pretty much just keep on painting til I'm happy with it
