I've been freelancing somewhat consistently for almost a year. I'm not making nearly enough money to live off, but making money off your art is just as much business skills as it is art skills. Think of all the hours you've put into gettin gud, and do the same with biz skills. I just applied to a call center today so hopefully I'll have my bills covered and can do the overlap technique with my art. Look up seanwes.com/podcast and listen to that episode. He also talks about the trifecta of making money off your work: client work, products and teaching. If you want to make money, first of all be really fucking good, then practice working with people and your professionalism with clients.

Selling prints, adapting your work to shirts, patches hats etc. And selling them on your online store for residual income.

And teaching, making courses, tutorials, teaching what you know (there's always someone you're slightly ahead of).

But yeah, so far freelancing and commissions are not cutting it. (FFG pays $100 per card ffs). Hopefully I can slowly build up to getting way higher paying jobs, I've only been doing it for about a year. The other place I've been doing work for pays ~$400 or illustration so that's a step up, but still not enough. Freelancing is really hard to schedule and be consistent and line things up well. Good luck to all y'all, we all gonna make it brehs

I'd say try to define your forms better. It's sorta sloppy now.
