As was Frazetta's. Mostly cheap fantasy/sci-fi and comic books in the 50s-70s. Nearly all of his work is commercial illustration.

Frazetta is the master of feet hiding. Once you realize this fact you can't unsee it in his paintings.

Let me rephrase it then, I don't dislike his art because he tried to emulate Frazetta, I dislike it because he emulated all the wrong things. I said copy because it's a surface level re-creation of many of the tropes that Frazetta's art brought to the fantasy genre, but lacking the visual punch and vitality due to over-rendering and poor taste.
