already i fucked around with the face contruction even more. the eyes were both too high, her right eye needed to come in more, and the right eye needed to be a bit bigger.

so i have a couple questions.

ive been making solid progress on portraiture and this will be my first painting of a portrait. i started doing all kinds of measurements and calculations to make it as accurate as possible eventually getting to the point where if i was drawing with pencil and paper i could just guess and get pretty close. i did the same with this, just trying to come as close as possible, checking later with fresher eyes, adjusting, repeat. it seems like portraits are just fucking complicated. does it ever get to the point where you can just draw an outline pretty fucking perfect first try?
