Now that's what I call chinless contrarianism. Soon /ic/ will do a 180 and call bad art "S O V L", it's already happening not only with the AI but recently there was a thread with people were calling these crappy old "how to draw manga" books "based" and "soul", you know the same books that old /ic/ mocked for YEARS lmao

I think he gave him those cursed books about drawing manga we see pop up every now and then. That face is fucked up but it's clearly intentional, I don't think the 3D model he used was this weird

then by this logic, /ic/ should hate the anime style cuz a lot of young artist imitate bad habits from it to the point where they don't recover. you could blame this on those shitty as fuck "how to draw manga" books that litter bookstores but the same could be said for just jumping straight to the tooning.

source: anon who fell into that how to draw manga rabbit hole years ago and hasn't recovered since. albeit my art looks more like young justice and overwatch had a baby but hey it still counts.

>Surprised these books are so well-received here
I mean the drawings themselves are good and the method is fine for kids.

She draws a lot, she enjoys it, she gets better over time, she has a deviantart and stuff. She's clearly putting work into that. Obviously, she might not want to have an art career, but she likes drawing and that's enough for me to want to help her.

I remember how I enjoyed improvements, the thrill when something came out exactly how I pictured it in my head. I'm just wondering if there are some manga tutorials for begginers that would actually help her, and not be pic related.

It's just so hard to start pointing out where she's going wrong. I mean, how do I even start explaining all the mistakes in anatomy and stuff, so that she doesn't get discouraged?

I know she's looking up to me, so I don't want to critique her harshly. She's a sensitive kiddo. I'd rather send her some tutorials or something.
