my tip is patiently wait for it to dry before going for final black lines so they keep nice and sharp, enhancing the face features. alternatively do the linework with ink not soluble in water, then paints over it

look up some better manga and notice how they draw left VS right eye in 3/4 view heads. they do it to imply the head is 3D and foreshortened. also google up how people hold cup of coffee: they dont dip the sleeve into the cup

some people consider drapery as one of the fundies. there are literally art books just about how to draw clothes. anyway if you have good reference, then you dont need to understand anything. just draw what you see
