Interesting how the AI narrative has developed lately. At first AIbros were big bullies, and were seen as such, a lot of thunder & lightning about human artist obsolescence. Maybe this strain of self-victimization was always present, but I'm seeing a lot more of it now.
This is a popular strategy of the left and "losing" identity groups - gain the dominant culture's sympathy by highlighting your disadvantages, the unfairness of your lot in life. By itself it may be based in simple unfair factual reality, but it's ultimately an emotional appeal. And it feels especially cynical here coming from AIbros, who were talking in warlike language mere months ago.
