Anyone else afraid of being alone in their head while drawing? This is the main reason why I procrastinate.
It's like my inner voice is /ic/ replies on steroids. Extremely whiny, pessimistic, narcissistic, nitpicky.

I need to have music or podcasts constantly in the background to quiet my inner voice, but lately that isn't doing the trick.

So I have been researching a lot about self talk, and apparently it's something super important for successful people. Positive self talk creates action, and negative self talk only creates self sabotage.

And then I found this experiment on how to control pessimistic self talk.

Anyone else has experience dealing with this?

But I know how to photobash.

I want people to tell the difference. I love the juxtaposition.

I strive to do the Bakemonogatary thing. Cartoony vs photography vs 3D vs sketchy. One minute they are doodles and the other realistic looking. Then they turn into videogame sprites.

The only people who I know prefer a ""painterly"" look are just people who aren't into art but want to feel artsy. I want to be Rogers Rabbit and Space Jam. Or Oyasumi Pun Pun where a doodle is the MC while the world around him is photorealistic.

Just imagine painting the same character the same way over and over and over until you die. I would kill myself if all my art looked the same for years.

The meme of keeping the style consistent was not to break the immersion of the public. But that was before the 80's. Everyone knows how movies and art are made nowadays. They know everything is fake, you're not fooling anybody. They want to be entertained. That's what I want and why I started to do art. Not for virtue signaling, but for amusement.

What matters is not style consistency, but ideas, humor, wit, energy, characters.

I just wanted to draw furry porn to get some bucks while I was unemployed.
But I don't like to be halfassed about things so I ended up spending all of my time drawing. Now I'm an illustrator.

I just wanted to be a programmer.

I already started making money. More than I have ever done in my life.

The problem is that the pressure to perform stifles my creativity.

I can stop giving a fuck about art and just release the first thing that comes out, but that's not why I became an artist. I wanted to create worlds, not be a salesman.
