>it's a beg trap
Nah. If you will browse /ic (and ignore the ai spam) you will see MANY posters who lack critical fundies such as
>drawing from reference / observation
>sighting techniques
>what are textures and why do they matter
>composition
>what are values and why its good to use whole range in your drawings
>negative shapes
>hard and soft edges
>lighting, mapping, shadows
Also a lot of BEGs trivialize drawing from reference and want to use construction when in reality they cant even fucking draw a hand from reference. Like how do you expect to construct face or hand if you cant even draw it correctly from reference? Its the construction which is beg trap.

>His drawings are int level at best
Good artists can be horrible teachers and vice versa. Dodson has few comics and 90 illustrated books in his portfolio. By the very definition he is /pro
>and aren't even done in pencil
There is even section in the book comparing various mediums and you are indirectly encouraged to try them out yourself. While pencil is mega versatile tool, there are tools better for some tasks compared to jack of all trades pencil.

I have been summoned and i dont mega praise this book. Its just so many BEGs do the exact errors which are described in the book the easiest remedy for them is to simply recommend them this book. Thats all.

If you already have some drawing experience then there are definitely better books for you. KtD is best suited for (perma)BEGs and NODRAW anons. Why? Because it teaches you broad range of skill set, expands your art jargon vocabulary and shows you different approaches to drawing. And the book does all of this with small paragraphs of text and keeping it casual and fun (so even anons with ADHD have decent chance to actually finish it).

If you want to see "before and after" just spy my social (DeviantArt doesnt require you to sign in) to get an idea if the book does something or nothing. IMHO it has results. Great results.

Peak soul. But i am not that kind of dude to ever pay for art so yeah.
>>6168940
Thats blatantly wrong. While his shading is very anti-meta it still adds details and shape and soul
>>6168778
Why didnt you look up FEMALE lifters anon? Are you gay?
>>6168713
Spend more time on a piece before you ask for crits
>>6168647
I like it a lot. Now imagine it in color uhhhhhm
>>6168609
Book gives you guidance and forces you to draw even shit you hate or suck at.
>>6168480
You draw like you have depression anon, are you alright?
>>6168438
The beauty of digital is you can sketch without erasing and when you are done you just set opacity of the layer to like 20% and draw over it final product
>>6168291
I like it. For water just look at reference and draw what you see :-)
>>6168155
Very nice nostalgia tone. Nice kirby
>>6167911
You draw like dodson. Its chaos on 1st look but on 2nd one its sometimes deep and detailed.
>>6167763
Very unique and appealing. Next time dont be scared to pick darker tones when selecting colors.

Spend at least hour or two on single piece and turn your doodle into something "better" and i will gladly give you some (You)s. Btw you keep drawing same shit and still dont even finish it. Do you have ADHD?
