Studying to draw hands.

Any tips on the lineart for hands?
How much details is too much?
Without enough details, the hands look flat.
With too much details, the hand looks too real and not anime.
Or i should just leave the details for when rendering?

Do i need to practice until i can draw from imagination?
It doesn't matter because i can always just use my own hand as reference for any pose right?
