This board is such shit for that exact reason.
As an artist I come here once in a while, and every time I regret it. Not because I get chewed out but because there's so little to learn from. You're much better suited to ask on an actual "forum" where people aren't anons.
This board epitomizes "the blind leading the blind".
Not only that, but the nature of posting on this site leads itself to nothing but self-deprecation and whining. Art is about having self-motivation, self-discipline, and constructive feedback from people who know what they're doing.
What percentage of this board actually does that? Every other thread are crybabies or non-artists spewing negativity. This is the nature of this site and it doesn't lend itself at all to being a decent place to discuss one's art.
There's a difference between the typical black and white, hyper-critical why things are "discussed" on this site and just being a shit board who's purpose has failed due to the anonymous/image board nature of this site.
