I can somehow draw a basic "shadow" of the piece im working on during the sketching phase, then find some reference to correct some mistakes.

Problem is I don't really know how the "muscles" work together, currently trying to apply some basic shapes as a replacement for these muscles with a complex pose but it always look bad when rendered, specially when perspective/foreshortening comes in. I have been drawing too much portraits/busts that when i try to do some full body piece i fail at the legs and hips part.

As of now i'm heavily reliant on references, and can't do much without them. Any advice to fix this problem?
