>the artist's brain is more similarly wired to those with mental disorders
Yes but no.
Of course, like the mentally ill, as an "artist" you see and feel things slightly different from the norm; you make connections. see, hear things who aren't there, you mix those and add keep adding until you come up with something, which then you can choose to mold into reality unto a medium.
There is a silver lining; the mentally ill doesn't know he's retarded, the artist questions himself constantly and will mature if he isn't mentally ill.
I mean, look at the state of this board.
Absolute normievile, this shithole.
> 'the arts' disproportionately attract the mentally ill
>many people who have mental illness do try to work in jobs that have to do with art and literature, not because they are good at it, but because they're attracted to it.
Yes, but for the sole reason that getting into "the arts" is easy. Especially nowadays.
Then you get art communities who are 99% hugboxes filled with retards and sociopaths seeking attention and getting it.
Creativity, as a definition, has become shallow and it's basically boiled down to anything that doesn't have to do with a "regular job".
Which makes measuring creativity, moreso difficult.
There are way more variables to this.

Ultimately, creativity is judged subjectively, like most things in art.
>"I liked it because it's creative thus i like it."
Well, let's not start about the inferiority complex because that's another big issue most drawtards suffer from even more intensly than normies.

Thank you for the tip friend. I ended up fully investing myself in minecraft for the day. Something still creative and something I could fully dive into while not feeling like I had wasted my time. I'd imagine tetris (or any other heavily cognitive game, like dual-N-back) would produce quicker and better effects, since they require even more attention. I would imagine that the podcast will have to be something very interesting to you or attention grabbing to have its full effect.

I will add this to the story
The day after, I sat down and meditated for an hour. And for that hour I imagined my mind as an attic (the thought came to me since I am a classic sherlockian and in the books he refers to it as such) with book shelves and boxes and a mess of litter everywhere. Each bit of clutter was representative of a memory or thought. I cleared a space and went through things, Anything that I found brought on feelings of inadequacy, anxiety or pain I would examine carefully for their truth, and if there was any use in holding onto them to this day. Everything that did not add up, I threw down a garbage chute ( I guess my attic had a garbage chute, weird attic)

By the end of it, I had cleaned up the mess and haven't experienced the same level of anxiety again. I can still remember the events and things I did throw down the cute. They aren't gone, but I dont have the same negative fixation on them.

thank you for reading my blog post senpai. I hope what I went through can help in any way if you're still struggling <3
