There's a "Disable touch if using stylus" option that I have turned on. I have a smudgeguard but I can 100% still activate touch through the glove. I drew those lines without my hand touching the device anyway. Should probably note that the little "hooks" at the start of the lines only happen in CSP for whatever reason, but it still wobbles in the other software I've tried using with it.

Have any western artists become very successful financially, that don't do porn? Just wondering how much you can make if you are an exceptional artist outside of a special circumstance, like doing porn like Sakimichan, or owning a business like Feng.

How much are you guys planning to charge for your work once you're ready? Even just small commissions.

I will be charging $15 an hour to start, but will bump it up to $20 or more when I get really good.

The amount of hours I put into a piece will determine the final asking price, of course. Private commission from some kid on deviant art? 2 hour sketch for $30. Professional illustration for WotC? 30 hours for $600, I guess.

Why do I always feel inferior to my game design colleagues in any game studio I join as an artist?

I don't want to do the whole studio/game development artist career anymore, so I can only do freelance digital art.

But I can't figure out anything to do with that, that is genuinely exciting. What IS so great about those top digital artists like Ruan Jia and Dave Rapoza?

It's very easy to determine whether or not the market is oversaturated or not. If the supply outweighs the demand it's oversaturated. If the demand was higher you'd get a better deal at Wizards of the Coast and fantasy flight, but since the supply of artists is so high the pay hasn't improved and has in some weighs actually gotten worse.

The passion and determination to work 50-60 hours on a painting for a card art studio that pays 350 dollars before taxes? Commercial art is a field where you're putting in the hours of a doctor or lawyer for a fraction of the pay and if you question the economics of that you're not "passionate" (whatever that means) enough.

I'm not saying it's impossible to make it by any stretch of the imagination, but you have to sit back and think where you want to be in your late 20s and early 30s- Earning 40k annually working 70 hours a week making assets for the next generic shooter sequel that aren't even going to get used in the final game?

The hours you work and the pay you get are a direct result of supply-demand. Otherwise it would be easier to negotiate a higher wage, but there's always some one more "passionate" and "determined" who'll do more work than you for less pay. Want to have a house, wife and kid at some point? Guess you're just not passionate enough.
