For me at least, no other artist captures the soul of the person quite like he does. It's like you can feel the life in the eyes. First time I saw his work is blew me back because of this and I near instantly had to find a piece to hang on my wall, which I did and now sits right above my PC as a constant source of inspiration.

/ic/ is best used as an area to share resources. By the very nature of this site what you're suggesting just isn't realistic as there is always a few guys who are only on a board for the (you)'s or to fuck up others. Just share books, brushes, inspiration, reference, and perhaps tutorials/info images and use them to grow, it may not be the community you seek but it's still a good source of knowledge regardless.

>drawing a child makes you a pedo

You're only a pedo when you're sexually attracted to children, drawing them doesn't necessarily involve sexuality. I draw a lot of dudes nekkid and that doesn't make me gay.

Oooor just go around the world trying to convince that pic related is CP and that Bouguereau was a pedophile and see how you do in life. Go ahead. I don't give a shit.

I mean, you can use any amount of color you want. What I meant is that if you have a red, blue, or yellow, it is ALREADY leaning towards another primary color, but it's very likely that you need to push it even more. Besides that, the colors should always have a bit of white and a bit of black

The purer the color not only the more unnatural it looks, the harder it is to balance the palette

Of course you shouldn't go overboard with the mixtures or you'll get it all muddy-grayish. But always remember, if things are imbalanced, chances are they aren't on the same palette

Just check neoclassics, romanticists, even impressionists, they palettes aren't high.

Btw: that's the reason your stock merc_wip concept art always looks so unconvincing, it has too much white, the palette is high and imbalanced. Hence everything shines, your eyes aren't guided towards anything, the composition is awful, it looks standard, plastic and overall shit. Bouguereau on the other hand

Yes, yes it was a big money scam that went viral in the 19th century.

>He was living right there with him for fuck's sake and he taught his son all he knew about painting.

Exactly. There's no reason to assume Picasso couldn't paint on his own, and that his father "just tweaked it for him", all in preparation for this century long con job.

I get it though, you've got an axe to grind, I'm going to take >>2026759 advice and tap out.

Here's some Bouguereau, known child rapist, he also murdered the girl portrayed in this painting.

>Hard Lesson indeed.

sometimes i wonder what goes through some artists' heads when they claim they're not a beginner and know anatomy but can't understand how to fix their drawing.

can you honestly look at pic related and back to yours and say you understand anatomy and that you're not a beginner? (though bouguereau would probably make any artist feel like that lol.)

oh well, ref for you. most 12 year old boys look like little girls anyway.
