Is doing this useful?

I got told a while ago by someone when I posted my drawing here to use Drawabox. So I started, and... holy shit. I don't think I've had less fun drawing in my life. It really demotivated me because drawing is definitely something I want to get better at, but this made it seem like a chore, and I wasn't enjoying it.

I know I sound like a babby but if my drive to draw was once "hell yeah even if I'm shit let's do this" to "fucking hell I don't want to do this again" then I don't think it's a good exercise for me to do. I wanted to focus on drawing bodies and proportions first, and of course, for that I need to know my anatomy. I've taken to drawing over statues to identify the muscle groups and then trying to recreate them myself. My question is - is this USEFUL?

I don't want to fool myself into thinking I'm doing something productive when I'm actually not, you know? Will this actually help me improve my understanding of anatomy, or is it just a meaningless filler-exercise that doesn't actually do anything? I feel like it could help, but at the same time,
