A4 is the typical douinshi manuscript size, since the A4 original gets cropped to B5 size and then resized to A5 for publication.
By the way, A4 is for the uncropped original and B5 is for the cropped version. Some artists prefer to skip straight to B5 since that's the final size for the og page, but that's risky since the cutting process for printing is imprecise, so they tend to avoid drawing detail outside the panel frames.
