Babe wake up, new kyoto contest has just been announced

I doubt it's all that good in actual fact. For example the link upthread has mediocre art and worst of all, looks generic, sorry to say. Nothing eye catching or inventive about it at a glance, which is fatal. That's just how it is in /ic/, you all overwhelmingly have boring, narrow taste.
Do something new and exciting. Not easy but worth the struggle.
One thing that is true, though, is you can always just sell out and do coombrain shit. If that seems like the path for you, go for it.
Regardless, getting "demoralized" by art that you supposedly consider exciting is the gayest shit and a sign of ngmi. Find art that inspires you and forget about follower count. You are going to keep up with this comic, right, OP? Surely you're not using it just to make a point?
