eh thats generally attributable to the painting and color choices and lack of finishing anything more than a reflection of how the image got to canvas.

I feel you. Some of the ones posted, particularly >>3678217 and >>3678202 are ones that I'm well aware I goofed up on. Tried to experiment with the order of operations on them, started getting frustrated, fucked them up with weird colors to try and make them interesting, and then autistically covered them with way too much whites and highlights.

Good advice though I'll obsess about it for awhile.

Can you elaborate on this? A few doingusses have said this but when it comes to why and how the underdrawings are the "root cause" of how paint is applied to canvas. What specifically is wrong with the underdrawings and what would you do to improve the process?

I mean I went to art magnet school for like 10 years. I was pretty good at drawing 15 years ago. Why should I obsess about honing pencilling when that's not what I'm doing?

Not that I haven't been practicing drawing more tho. It definitely helped me get out of a funk the last week or so to just do some kind of drawing on paper without planning on it eventually having paint on it. Still impulsively catch myself making guidelines to mark changes in color though.
