How do you find a good schedule of exercises that works for you?

I've read the sticky and everything but I still feel like there's so much stuff that I don't know where to start to get into animation.

All I'm really doing right now is doing a 3-hour figure drawing class twice a week but besides that I'm not really drawing at all. I'd say depression is a big factor as well but I still feel overwhelmed when I don't have an instructor telling me what to practice.

I guess what I want to know is: What does an artist need to learn to be able to start stylizing and exaggerating their drawings?

I want to be able to draw cartoons, especially like pic related!
