There's a difference between how humans move in rest or in action, in sadness, happiness etc. It needs to be done right or else you get undesirable results like you said.

By the way when I say difference in how they move I actually mean it. You could pause a picture or someone swinging a bat right and someone swinging slowly like a dancer and you could tell which is which. there's a visible anatomical difference.
