I did this maybe ~10min color study for you. Maybe this gives you some idea how to start pursuing color - of course this lacks all details like highlights and gradients inside shadow shapes - just a flat wash (well I did a gradient on the ground from warmer reddish brown to lighter ochre). All textures for the walls etc. are lacking - maybe add a crack that goes from light to shadow side to make it interesting.

You can add way more warmth to the foreground. If you flip this to black and white the values are decent. Between the initial washes flip the color to black and white few times to see where your values are at, don't rely to the curves/levels tools at the end for pushing the values, the initial flat washes should have enough deviation as they are.
