I'm trying out working in watercolor but have problems with the colors running to the edges as can be seen where the characters intersect the background (eg. around the right shoulder). Is this because I have poor water control or due to using paints of dubious quality? I painted on 100% cotton 300gsm paper with some unbranded but probably student paint.
