It's easier if you pictured the head as this weirdly shaped block instead of a fine curvy egg. Improving your perspective skill helps a lot in understanding odd head angles

You're still symbol drawing, try not to think of it as a face, and just draw the shapes you see.

Simplify the head down to its base planes, and get that down solid first, and then you can start ot add detail on top of that.
