I hear both of you guys.
As I understand, modern ateliers start you with pencil and then move you to charcoal as a natural progression on the way to oils.

I guess I am just fascinated with this pencil stage and the control I am starting to have over it.
These next two pics, obviously one is a magnification of the same, was done with a pencil.
It’s just incredible and I have till spring to draw then I’ll start some oils.
