2. the form of the hat (particularly the brim) is really unclear - not only do the shadows in the front indicate a bucket-style hat with the front brim folded up despite the the rimlight of the hair indicating lighting from the right that should show in some way on the hat, but the small crown of the hat itself is barely visible with no indication of its cylindrical qualities besides its contour - the crown should have rendering, or the lighting should be consistent throughout the figure
also, a hat doesn't have to have a crown big enough to accommodate the entirety of the head to look "correct", especially when stylized, but the brim should compliment the crown and the crown should wrap around the head with enough space to fit it in most cases - small hats that are ill-fitting can be funny, but you're clearly not going for comedy

shade the brim of the hat to clearly indicate which sides are faces down or up, and if you intended to show the front of the brim as flapping upward, communicate that intent clearly - cast shadows do an excellent job of doing this, even when the rendering has low contrast between areas of light and shadow. an object in front of another without any light can be difficult to discern the depth and size of the background object, but a cast shadow resolves both of those issues and clearly tells the viewer "i did this on purpose"
