How far does this apply? If I trace everything from photos and paintover them, it allows me to be much more prolific while skipping the tedious construction part, time that I could spend on style and color.

Now that this is becoming the norm, how do we push the boundaries of time saving efficiency? Is it still art if you take another person's work, make minor edits, and put it through a filter?

Is there any other board that has this quantity of shitpost threads (0-2 replies, usually all of which are shitposts as well) that stay up for this long?

Look at the catalog, as a newcomer, most of the threads are literally trash. Why would anyone want to browse this shithole?

I've noticed more and more artists on patreon who are just tracing and painting over. Getting to skip a lot of the tedious foundationwork means they're more prolific, seen more, and earn more.

Is this the only way to compete as newcomers in art? Who has the motivation to spend years drawing boxes when the easy path is just right there and more and more people are taking advantage of it every day, while you're sitting here drawing things no one cares about.

If talent exists, then the inverse of talent must exist. If there's one end of a bell curve there must be another. Statistically, a number of us here are just so awful we will never make it regardless of the effort we put in.

So how can you tell if you're really artistically retarded and should just give up for another pursuit?
