u ever notice how a sketch looks better before you clean it up? theres more going on in the sketch than the outline, theres lines indicating form over the figure, and drawing your eyes to the bolder darker lines that wouldnt be present in a clean version. think of comic book cover art, the lines are very crisp but they have differing line weight depending on where the focus of the art is, while leaving a bit of the hatching in there to give you more to look at, and solidify the gesture of the pose. pic related would look terrible with a 1/1 outline over the whole body, but looks amazing with the differing line weights.
