Not everyone has the same goals as you and not every author will do for everybody.

Plus you clearly didn't ready the sticky. Reading the absolute beginner part, they recommend, Fun with Pencil, Key to Drawing, Right side of the brain, Perspective made easy and like >>1796054 pointed out, Vilppu and even more authors.

Number one mistake beginners do is falling for the mindset "i started this book now i have to finish it". Please don't fall for it, get as many books as you can. Didn't understand Fun with pencil construction? Go and try Key to drawing, etc...

Just because something worked for me doesn't mean it'll work for everybody.
