>Is this a software issue, do I need SAI or Photoshop rather than Krita? Or does it have to do with practice, and if so, what exercises should I do to fix it? I don't know how to draw clothes/accessories, so everything I draw has few lines and little variance in line thickness. Maybe this is why things look off if I can't get body contours exactly right, and I can distract the eye if I added clothes. Would studying that help?

It is not a software issue, it doesn't matter if you do lines on a screen or using a pencil.

To understand lineart think about it like this
"Lines are present where there is a visible hard edge between two values"
Usually these appear as contour lines around objects. Now obviously real life objects do not have lines around them only sudden changes in value. You could also think of it where there is a sharp turn in the form if you want "feel the form memes." It could also be imagined where there is a lot of ambient occlusion since light does not fit there so there will be a change in values.

Studying helps keep at it Anon!
