i find it sad that you see it that way, Modern art i find is beautiful, Jackson Pollock was amazing, back when i was not even into fine art (ages ago) i went to see Blue Poles, and i was speechless,
it sounds like you are more so refering to conceptual art? Artists such as Ai Wei Wei have beautiful examples of conceptual art, but what you said about people replying "what is art" i agree is retarded , but does not reflect on how 'bad' modern art is
