i'm saying that art isn't everything. i read a lot of manga. when i hear people like you say that "80-90%" of manga is shit or that opm is a one in a MILLION fluke then it becomes pretty apparent that artwork is all you really care about. but artwork isn't all that manga has to offer, not even close.

manga doesn't have to look like opm to be considered "good". but when i listen to people like you, it sounds like anything that isn't opm is "generic shit" and opm is the very best that manga had to offer. that really rubs me the wrong way. it sounds like you don't read much manga, and you're talking out of your ass because you read a bit of bakuman.

again, there is a ton of bad manga out there, but there is no shortage of good ones out there either.

yes. absolutely.
shoujo in general tends to be drawn badly (i.e. worse than opm).
and pic related is about the worst artwork you can find, but it's still an excellent manga.
