You have superficial anatomy knowledge. You should be learning about the major simplified forms. Proportions are terrible as well.
>>6179401
I can't tell what's going on here. Consider increasing the value range.
>>6179868
You need to suggest the shape and texture of vegetation, not draw every single stalk and leaf. You main focus should be on the values first and foremost.
>>6179872
Terrible mess. No focal point. You've blasted everything with highlights, is there a nuclear explosion off camera?
>>6179987
Instead of mindlessly sketching 5 construction layers, just do 1 carefully thought out sketch and correct it until you're satisfied with it. Maybe do a quick thumbnail first to get a feel for the composition. Also use a ref for complex poses like this, you're not good enough to do it from imagination.
>>6180229
Fucked up head and upper back.
>>6180326
Cool painting. The cast shadows don't follow the light source. The girl's shadow should be slender and stretch out more towards the horizon. The skull guy's shadow shouldn't be visible to the viewers, as it is cast behind him.
Overall the background could use more variation in sharpness and softness, and maybe a bit more contrast.
>>6180591
This is retarded.
>>6180479
Your lines are fine, you should be concerned about anatomy. The girl on the right has an asymmetrical face, looks like it's drooping downwards. The hands are also fucked up.
>>6180601
Great practice.
>>6181028
You need sharp, well defined edges. Your drawing has 0 form.
>>6181133
cool shapes.
>>6181164
Good attempt. You need to make more careful measurements during the construction phase. Always compare the angles and relative positions of major landmarks (the hat, nose, chin, shoulder, etc.) with the ref.
As for shading, your mid tones are way too dark. If you pay attention to the ref, the light source is almost directly in front of the model's face. So there are no hard shadows anywhere on her face, only very soft gradations.

>>6176032
Your colors are a bit desaturated and the value range is too small. As a result everything looks greyish and dead.
>>6176052
>>6176066
Use proper construction and stop chicken scratching. You can come back to the scratchy artstyle after you've actually learned how to draw.
>>6176076
You lack basic knowledge in values. Stop doing complex life studies like this and practice very basic objects under simple lighting. Also read actual theory instead of figuring shit out by yourself.
>>6176121
You're pre-beg. The best course of action is to read the sticky.
>>6176139
Your proportions are all over the place.
Try imagining how this girl's head would look like if she didn't have hair. Similarly, try imagining how her shoulders would look like if they weren't covered by the jacket.
>>6176161
Good practice. Try being more precise with your brush strokes.
>>6176264
I gave you critique in the last thread.
>>6176312
Her left eye is misplaced.
>>6176332
Commit to your lines and stop scribbling.
>>6176377
Don't copy anime. /beg/s don't know what makes anime drawings look good, so they end up studying shitty pixiv anime girls with warped anatomy. Complete waste of time.
>>6176382
You have a good eye for composition. Start posting in /alt/ or the animation general if you want useful advice.
>>6176456
pre-/beg/. Read the sticky.
>>6176555
The placement of the shoulder and the neck are wrong. Which makes it harder for you to correctly place the head. Learn upper body anatomy.
>>6176580
Her right eye is wonky and the head is a bit stretched vertically.
>>6176600
You can use a reference without tracing it.
>>6176631
Bad proportions - legs are too long. Do more precise measurments.
>>6176641
Her head is too small and doesn't follow perspective.
>>6176667
Cool. Learn about local values.
Also stop posting here and go to /alt/ or /draw/.

>>6173371
Not too bad for a study.
If you want to practice precision then you should spend more time in the construction phase. Start by drawing big abstract shapes and outlines and compare their positions and angles to the ref over and over again, until you are confident you've drawn them correctly. Only after that do you start adding details.
I'd suggest just doing a lot of studies that never get past the construction phase. Pushing a flawed drawing to finish is a waste of time.

>>6173528
The neck is too small and the head is positioned incorrectly.
But your biggest failure is the stiffness of your drawing. By trying to make everything accurate, you've lost the flow and action of the ref.
This could be circumvented in two ways: either stop trying to be accurate and put more focus on capturing the gesture, or, as I've said to the previous poster, learn how to block in the major shapes first by using precise measurements.

keep grinding.

>>6173558
Always use refs.

>>6173630
Cool stuff. Composition could be better, unless this is a zoomed in part of the drawing.

>>6167492
very nice, looking forward to seeing it finished.
>>6167514
terrible anatomy. props for drawing the hands though, it's good practice.
>>6167572
cool. Your workflow looks very messy, but as long as the finished piece looks good then that's alright.
>>6167603
stop chicken scratching. don't add any detail before constructing the major shapes. Also wherever you learned head anatomy from is wrong, those are not the correct proportions of a head in profile view.
>>6167643
cool
>>6167687
bad composition, no focal point.
>>6167738
Be more mindful in construction. Define the skull as a box in perspective.
good practice, keep going.
>>6167744
beg.
>>6167772
terrible line quality. you need to commit to your lines in places where it matters, otherwise you lose all form in your drawing. You can't hide your lack of anatomy knowledge behind your shitty hatching.

I'm pretty decent at drawing, I have basic control over anatomy, figure, perspectives, etc.
But I have no idea how to do basic stuff like construction, gestures, and copying accurately from ref.
With all my drawings I pretty much depend on the intuition that I got from years of aimless drawing.

How should I go about strengthening my fundamentals by formal learning/practice, while also skipping all the beginner stuff that I already have control over?
