Ask yourself: What do you really want to accomplish with your art? Do you want to get just good enough to crudely draw out your desires and ideas or do you want to stretch beyond that, make some art that people will remember and remember fondly? Art that makes people happy, if just for a brief period of time? Draw characters that look like they could come alive, that fleeting spark of life?

You have to please yourself first. And to get even get close to that point is going to take lots of hard mental burden. You're going to need really work hard and put long hours into your drawing skills and spend lots of time building up your visual literacy, visual/spacial problem solving and critical thinking skills.

You can work on your imaginative stylized drawing and your fundamentals at the same time. I suggest what I suggest a lot on here: Linear perspective is what separates the novices from people starting to get the hang of it. I suggest getting materials for that first. Learn about turning mass in space in your head and applying what you're learning to drawing anime. You can also just sit and analyze art you like and try to break down the visual elements that make the artwork pleasing to you and then experimenting with the elements yourself. Don't merely copy. Analyze what you're looking at.

It takes dedication and self awareness to teach yourself how to draw well. Be like Guts. Fight against the forces that keep you down.
