My method of improving my craft has always been sketchy:
Normally I just let things improve through practice and habit, I do my best to do things right on every piece. In cases I need to study, I simply pick a topic and start studying and grinding, I do this until I have a full grasp of the topic, then I let improvements come as I progress through pieces. I do this while looking at my own pieces, thinking of what I could do better next; however, my biggest flaw on this plan is that I dont do much research unless Im studying, so for the instances I dont study (80% of the time) my solutions for issues are not very well thought out. Im working on researching more often and having more study sessions.

As for timeline, I've been drawing since I was 5, picked up digital art at 13 and only started taking art seriously since 2018. The reason why Im still not out of beg zone despire having almost two decades drawing is because I never focused to improve until early college, I was just drawing for fun and I was too attached to my stylization (I still kind of hate myself for that). I only started improving because self awareness was creeping and I was feeling like my art was too bad, so I started looking for ways to improve and decided to take art seriously for once.

Im going to go bit by bit with you, OP.
TLDR: OP,in good faith I tell you that you are falling into "Entitled Dunning Krugger" catrgory and you need a change of mindset.

>This is actually my greatest work.
Good for you, we all have that artwork that becomes peak at some point. Dont let this blind you though, the more you progress the more you realize the mistakes and improvable elements you are overlooking with your current skill, which others might notice with more ease.
>A lot of people seem to not like it
I can see why, it's just a simple anime girl headshot with nothing noteworthy to lach onto, plus your skill seems to be clearly lackluster, even if you feel like using the "it's my art style" excuse. Even for art styles, you should mind the fundamentals.
>but every time I ask them to post their work, they get scared and run away. So I think it's just jealousy.
This can be the case, sure, but demanding others to ptw just because they delivered some criticism is entitled at best, and it only gets worse when you think doing otherwise is because of "jealousy", "insecurity" and the like. You should not do nor think like this, not posting one's work doesnt mean anything concrete, it depends on the context, in most cases doesnt mean anything. And no one is obligued to ptw if they're just offering some criticism, this also varies with context and if you think one's skill can be measured with what they post, then you're clearly on a wrong mindset.

My point should stand on it's own regardless of me doing so, but Im going to pmw just because you're probably going be a dick if I dont, which you definitely shouldnt no matter the case. This is also my peak btw, and even then I can notice some mistakes already.
